World Time Zones
Do you need to schedule an international meeting or are you just curious about the time accross the world?
I hope this information will help. (I have used it to schedule international online bridge games
at OKBridge.) Page down to see my chart of time zones.
The International Meeting Planner provides an easy and accessible way to plan a meeting with participants in different time zones. Visit The World Clock Meeting Planner
for concurrent times at multiple international locations. The Time Zone Reference Card creates a table of time zone offsets based on your selections. The Internet Public Library has links to other time zone resources.
You'll need to have a browser that supports Java scripts to see the world clocks above.
If the time and cities are not flashing in sync, try pressing the reload or refresh button
on your browser. The clocks are a service from 7AM.Com.
The table that follows describes the international time zones beginning with Greenwhich Mean Time (GMT) in western Europe, progressing east around the world to the international date line and back to one hour west of the starting point. Abbreviations and time zone names are given when I know them. There may be more than one name for the same increment from GMT (Example: British Summer Time, Irish Summer Time and Western Europe Summer Time are all 1 hour ahead of GMT in the summer.) Often only one name is provided when there are probably more and sometimes I do not know any name or abbreviation for the time zone. Cities are listed together that have the same concurrent time with their time zone names and abbreviations at the left when known. I found more abbreviations at Time zone abbreviations, but I haven't yet incorporated them into the chart. If you have information about missing time zone names and abbreviations, please
me.
